Del Tredici was represented by "Acrostic Song," a reworking of materials used in his Chicago Symphony piece, "Final Alice." The composer's elegant sense of craft and ability to retain an appealingly urbane ingenuousness are what save this piece from sounding like a postminimalist gloss on cocktail-pianism.
